Saarijärvi Sauna Canoeing 6.6.2026 Welcome to spend an exciting summer day in the beautiful landscapes of Saarijärvi's Onnenlaakso! Organized by the City of Saarijärvi and numerous partners, Sauna Canoeing combines nature, exercise, sauna bathing and togetherness in a unique way on Saturday 6.6.2026 from 12–18. The event is based at the former Lehtola school, from where you can easily access all of the day's activities. The event is free of charge and open to all ages. Meals and café services are at your own expense. What can you do at the event? During the day you can: go down the whitewater with a guided raft try kayaking (about an hour of paddling) have a sauna in several different saunas in Savela and at Lehtola School relax in the tent sauna and hammocks eat at the Tarvola Farm burger bar enjoy the village committee's cafeteria participate in the children's stickman course watch other people's performances enjoy live music The event is part of the Central Finland Sauna Region Week and the 160th anniversary of Saarijärvi. Where will the event be held? The main center is the former Lehtola School in the Onnenlaakso area in Saarijärvi. You can leave your car at Lehtola School, from where non-stop minibus transportation is organized: to Roppila rafting to Savela sauna and canoeing From Savela you can participate in the guided canoeing route back to Lehtola School. Program and schedule 10:00 AM Guided cycling starts from Runeberg Park 12:00 PM–6:00 PM Sauna canoeing event in Onnenlaakso Activities and participation Rafting and canoeing will be guided. You can join on site in the order you register. Number of participants: Rafting: max. 16 people / start Kayaking: max. 16 people / start A maximum of: five rafting shifts three canoeing shifts The event is subject to weather conditions.
