SaunaBus- day trip to the heart of Finnish smoke sauna culture
The SaunaBus transports from Jyväskylä and Jämsä to the Jämsä Sauna Village - on Finnish sauna culture day, June 13, 2026.
In Saunakylä, you can enjoy the warmth of 19 smoke saunas on the shore of Lake Päijänne. Between the saunas, you can take a dip in the water and enjoy the services of the café. About 2-3 hours have been reserved for the visit, depending on your starting point (Jyväskylä / Jämsä). On the day of transportation, in addition to the traditional open sauna event, guidance is organized in the area, and there are also free traditional sauna hosts demonstrating their skills. The transportation prices do not include the services of the area, but they are purchased separately on site. Saunakylä Services: 🟢 Sauna package price 20 euros/person. Children under 16 years old can use the sauna for free. 🟢 You can rent a towel and a washcloth on site for a fee or bring your own for the trip. Changing rooms are available. 🟢 Guidance 10€/person. The guidance lasts about an hour, and you will get to know the history of the saunas in the area in more detail. The guidance starts at 4 pm. 🟢 The café sells refreshments and small savory snacks. There is also a grill and a dining shelter where you can enjoy your own food. The bus serves customers from Jyväskylä and Jämsä railway station, also stopping in the Himos area. SaunaBussi is part of the “Sustainable International Accessibility for Tourism in Central Finland (KeKaSa)” project.
