Cellist Antto Tunkkari performs Bach's Cello Suites II, IV & V at the Kuokkala Church. Bach's universal, eternally modern music speaks to both the listener and the performer, regardless of time and place. Welcome to pause and refresh at this musical source! Antto Tunkkari is an active cellist at home in solo, chamber, and large symphonic music. He is the second artistic director of the Kokkola SyysKamari Festival, the cellist of the contemporary music ensemble Hai Quartet, and a new member of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. Tunkkari plays a Vincenzo Postiglione cello from the Finlandsvensk instrumentfond. The concert is part of a series of Bach concerts supported by the Niilo Helander Foundation, during which Tunkkari will perform all of Bach's Cello Suites. The concert is free of charge. A voluntary collection will be taken at the door for shared responsibility.
