Unprecedented Chablis tasting in Verso on Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 PM.
Welcome to the La Chablisienne wine tasting event in Verso on Thursday, October 2nd at 6 PM! We will be hosting a representative from the French wine estate, Melanie Audrouhin.
La Chablisienne is one of the pioneers of Chablis. Melanie Audrouh, a representative of the winery, introduces us to the most delicious wines of this magnificent Chablis estate. La Chablisienne is one of the best and most respected producers in Chablis. Its story begins as early as 1923, when many winegrowers in the region united their forces to better withstand the economic depression that was afflicting the land. Under the leadership of Abbé Balitrand, they founded a cooperative winery to produce and market Chablis wines. Over the years, the winegrowers have jointly developed the winemaking process to produce distinctive and fine-tuned wines that fully express the potential of the region. Initially, the grapes were brought to the La Chablisienne winery for pressing, but to ensure optimal quality, a method was adopted where the grapes are pressed as close as possible to the actual vineyards. Terroir knowledge is the key Although the winery is known for its pioneering development work, La Chablisienne continues the work and legacy of the monks of Cîteaux, which includes the constant study of the soil and growing conditions to achieve the best possible result. The vineyards are located in several different Cru areas. The location of the vineyard and how the different areas are exposed to the sun have a very significant impact on the resulting wine. The Chablis terroirs are directly reflected in the wines of La Chablisienne, and the best features are found in the winegrowers' vineyards. The main element is the Kimmeridgian, with its alternating limestone and fossilized oyster shells, which give the La Chablisienne wines their distinctive personality. What is Chablis? Chablis is the northernmost part of the Burgundy wine region in France, which is separate from the other sub-regions. The soil is ancient seabed, rich in fossil limestone. Chablis is divided into four sub-regions; the core is formed by the vineyards of the Chablis Grand Cru and Chablis Premier Cru classes, surrounded by the general Chablis. The highest quality class, Chablis Grand Cru, and the also highly regarded Chablis Premier Cru come from top-notch vineyards. All the wines produced are white wines. What's being tasted?
