In this workshop, burlesque performer Dorian Dietrich will share their tips and tricks to slow down while maintaining electrifying energy. We’ll find opportunities to embrace stillness and keep your audience mesmerized. Finally, we’ll learn a short choreo harnessing what we’ve learned and perform it in groups for one another. Dorian Dietrich is a tantalizing force both on stage and behind it, creating deliciously decadent experiences for audiences seeking more than glitz and glam. Although they are a product of sunny California, their aesthetic is evocative of the smoky cabarets of Weimar-era Berlin: a playground in which anything goes, whether it be silly, smoldering, gender bending, or eccentric and enchanting. They are known for their captivating presence, as well as their sultry brand of singing striptease. Dorian has sung and stripped their way across the United States and Europe. Past appearances include festivals and shows in Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Panama, as well as Cleveland, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, and Tucson. Workshop is suitable for beginners and people who have already done burlesque. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in but that makes you feel good. Heels optional.
