itunen: Across Distances

The concert on the eve of All Saints' Day features the folkmusicgroup itunen.

Peace, sensitivity, and a sense of presence resonate in itunen’s music and interpretations. The concert features comforting songs—both familiar and lesser-known—performed in itunen’s own style. itunen consists of musicians from Jyväskylä: Piia Laasonen, Esko Turpeinen, Mikko Miettinen, and Ilona Rimpilä. itunen’s bright, airy sound and genuine presence invite the listener to pause and be in the moment. The group’s music incorporates elements of folk and Irish traditional music, among other styles. Their repertoire comprises original material by the group members, melodies rooted in folk music, and songs by other composers. "itunen: a beginning that holds the potential to branch out wide and grow tall."
