Bedtime Story Club
The first guest of the Bedtime Story Club is the author Johanna Venho, best known for her novels First Lady (Ensimmäinen nainen) and Autumn Book (Syyskirja).
The Bedtime Story Club is a new prose event concept by Bar Parvi and the Central Finland Writers' Association, where guests meet fascinating authors in an atmospheric bar setting. The conversation flows through the world of writing, books, and reading. The evening concludes—naturally—with a text chosen and read as a bedtime story by the guest. The club’s first guest is Johanna Venho, an acclaimed author whose work has received numerous awards and has been translated into several languages. In autumn 2026, WSOY will publish Venho's fifth novel, Mitä rakkaus meille tekee ("What Love Does to Us"), which explores the life of Maria Raunio (1872–1911), a Member of Parliament born and raised in Keuruu. Johanna Venho will be in conversation with author Iikka Hackman. The event is supported by Lehtisaaren Loisto and admission is free. A warm welcome to the heart of Säynätsalo!
