The Juurikkasaari summer concert series continues – the outdoor stage will be taken over by Vesterinen Yhtyeineen on August 8th! 💚💃🕺 The immensely popular Finnish folk band Vesterinen Yhtyeineen will perform in Juurikkasaari, Jyväskylä, on Friday, August 8th. The ten-member band recently wrapped up their successful "Hetken ikuinen" tour with a sold-out concert at the Nokia Arena in Tampere, and has since taken a break to record new music. They will return to the stage in summer 2025. The band’s immense popularity at the top of the Finnish music scene was solidified with the release of the "Hetken ikuinen" album in March 2023. The album won the Iskelmä Emma for Album of the Year. The album’s tour was a success, with nearly all of the band's concerts selling out well in advance. Vesterinen Yhtyeineen has released eight studio albums throughout their career, with a musical range that is truly vast. Their fearless exploration, sometimes in the western lands charted by Ennio Morricone, other times in the cradles of Slavic melancholy, and elsewhere in the bowls of Swedish positivity, has produced numerous radio hits and moving songs. Over the years, the band has developed a distinctive and beautiful sound that continues to inspire new listeners to draw from the orchestra's music.
