Petäjävesi Old Church gained inclusion in Unesco’s world heritage list as an prime example of northern wooden architecture in 1994. The church is representative of Scandinavian, Lutheran church architecture and the long tradition of log building. The admission fee (€ 9/6/2) includes a guided tour lasting approximately 30 minutes. Guided tours start at 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, and 17:00, or as otherwise scheduled. You can also explore the Old Church of Petäjävesi and its surroundings independently using a digital guide. Accepted payment methods include cash as well as debit and credit cards. Please note that the Old Church of Petäjävesi is not included in the Museum Card program. Weddings, concerts and christenings arranged at the Petäjävesi Old Church might cause temporary changes to these opening hours. Weddings are held nearly every Saturday afternoon in the summer, so please be prepared to wait for a little while or call us in advance to check the schedule.
