His refined elegance and bold creativity enchanted audiences in Central Finland, and within the orchestra itself, visibility and a spirit of experimentation have reached an entirely new level thanks to Gallois. Now he returns to familiar circles with the crown jewel of Romantic flute concertos: Carl Reinecke’s poetically dreamy and epically fantastical concerto could not receive better treatment than in Gallois’s hands! Continuing on a fantastical theme is another familiar and eagerly awaited guest, conductor Anna-Maria Helsing: Swedish contemporary composer Andrea Tarrodi envisions a celestial concert of exotic birds, while Austrian child prodigies of the Classical era, Maria Theresia von Paradis and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, let the flame of early brilliance blaze – and raise the question of why only one of them rose to fame.
