The launch of the Nature Backpack and a guided local nature excursion

The event will present a loanable nature backpack, introduce the "Muuttolintujen kevät" app, and finally take a guided bird-watching trip to the nearby trail.

Jamk's Lähilumo project is donating loanable nature backpacks to the libraries in Central Finland, the contents of which provide tools and tips for observing nearby nature. The event program starts with the launch of the backpack and usage tips. Jyrki Mantere from Keurusseudun Luonnonystävät (local nature conservation association) will talk about the Muuttolintujen kevät (Spring Migration) app, and finally we will go on a practical nearby nature excursion to the shore trail, i.e. the Maria Raunio trail towards Kurkiniemi. Along the way, we will discuss topics such as bird observations, changes in species, conservation issues, and the Birdlife Finland Bird of the Year, the common swift.
