SÓLSTAFIR (IS), THE ABBEY

SÓLSTAFIR (IS), THE ABBEY

Sólstafir, one of today's most respected names in heavy music, will return to Finland at the end of the year. The band from Reykjavík, known for their intensive concerts, will be seen at Lutako in Jyväskylä on Tuesday, November 28, from where the tour continues the very next evening at Tavara-asemi in Tampere and from there to Tavastia in Helsinki on Thursday, November 30. The domestic doom metal band The Abbey will be seen warming up the gigs. Ticket sales start at the ticket sales channels of each venue on Thursday, August 17 at 9 a.m. Performing to sold-out halls around the world, Sólstafir has created a mystical aura around him during his long career with his adventurous sound in the middle ground between post-rock and metal. Emotionally charged music combined with epic compositions expands the stereotypes typically associated with metal. The band's latest album "Endless Twilight Of Codependent Love" was one of the most praised releases of its year of publication in 2020. Sólstafir, who also has a devoted fan base in Finland, was seen in our country for the last time in July at the John Smith Festival. The Abbey, seen as the opening name of the evenings, released their debut "The Word Of Sin" in February of this year. Drawing from doom and 60s and 70s progressive rock, the band consists of Jesse Heikkinen (e.g. Hexvessel, Phallosopher), Janne Markus (The Man-Eating Tree, Poisonblack), Vesa Ranta (Sentenced, The Man-Eating Tree), Natalie Koskinen ( Shape Of Despair) and Henri Avola.
