Artist Chika Osaka's Workshop

Welcome on Sunday, 21 September at 12:30 to the Jyväskylä Art Museum to see artist Chika Osaka’s workshop.

The artist presents her working process through illustrative examples. Note! The event will be held in English. Entry with museum admission (10 / 8 / 6 €) or Museum Card; free admission for visitors under 24. Chika Osaka (b. 1984, Tokyo) is a Japanese printmaker and visual artist. She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2011 and has since received recognition in several competitions, including the Japan Print Association and the Shell Art Award. Her works have been exhibited both in Japan and internationally, in countries such as Germany, Swaziland, and Taiwan. Osaka combines lithography and painting with dramatic, handwritten lines, as well as large-scale installations where her artworks intertwine with short stories. Her work often reflects the diverse situations of women and resonates strongly with her own generation. Osaka's works are on display in the Graphica Creativa exhibition at the Jyväskylä Art Museum. 🖼 Chika Osaka, The Rice That Just Served, 2015, litografia.
