Outdoor Express: Leivonmäki National Park

Outdoor Express takes you from the centre of Jyväskylä by bus directly to nature and back. Experience the oasis of biodiversity, Leivonmäki National Park!

Outdoor Express, operating during weekends in the summer season, offers a quick connection from the center of Jyväskylä to three different National Parks. The transport departs from Jyväskylä Travel Centre at 11:00 and stops at Koskikara (Rutalahti P) at 11:40, Selänpohja P at 11:55, and the Harjujärvi accessible trail at 12:15. After this, the transport continues to Joutsa (Yhdyskatu) at 13:00, from where it returns to the national park area, stopping at Selänpohja P at 13:30 and Rutalahti P at 13:45. The return transport departs from Koskikara (Rutalahti P) at 16:30, Selänpohja P at 16:45, the Harjujärvi accessible trail at 17:00, Joutsa (Yhdystie) at 17:30, and arrives at Jyväskylä Travel Centre at 18:30. The ticket prices are for a one-way trip. Remember to also purchase a return ticket if you are returning with the Outdoor Express transport. Leivonmäki National Park enchants its visitors with its varied landscapes, where ridges, lakes, and mires create a unique natural mosaic. The park’s safe and easy-to-navigate trails and boardwalks make it a perfect destination for the whole family. The park has a variety of trails, ensuring that everyone can find a suitable one. Mountain biking routes and guided tours also start from Selänpohja. Accessibility: Lake Harjujärvi's accessible route allows people with reduced mobility to enjoy nature. The trail is challenging due to its gradient and it is therefore recommended to take an assistant with you. When booking, please indicate whether a wheelchair seat is required in the passenger compartment or whether the person can sit on the bus seat. This will affect the number of seats available for sale on the bus. Free access for the assistant when you indicate this at the time of confirmation. Limited number of accessible seats: book yours well in advance, but at least two days before your journey. Arrive at the departure point at least 15 minutes before the bus departs.
