Street Crawling makes a spectacular return to Saarijärvi in the summer of 2026, as the legendary Street Crawling World Championships are revived on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, right in the heart of Saarijärvi. In the 1990s, the event attracted up to 2,000 visitors and became known as a humorous yet surprisingly demanding sport. Now it returns in the spirit of a new era—more community-driven and diverse than ever before. The Street Crawling World Championships are not just a competition, but a full-scale urban festival filling the entire town center. The event is being organized by a wide network of local people, associations, and businesses, all working together to create a new kind of event culture in Saarijärvi. At the core of the event are the Street Crawling World Championships, featuring both individual and team categories. There are divisions for children under 3, ages 3–12, and adults. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities in the event area built in Saarijärvi’s town center. In addition to street crawling, the program includes a rich variety of music, different street sports, food culture, and a sauna world experience.
