The City of Light event is taking place for the 18th time! Jyväskylä once again invites you to enjoy light art, experiences and a comprehensive side program.
The City of Light event will take place this year over three days, Thu-Sat, 26-28 September 2024. The traditional City of Light event in Jyväskylä for the 18th time already! Domestic and international light works are spread over the Ylistö campus, Ruusupuisto, Lounaispuisto, Kirkkopuisto, Compass Square and Tourujoki. PHOTO WORKS Photo works will be published soon. The light works are on Thu-Sat 26.-28.9. at 20-24. RESIDENCE The City of Light is hosting two artist residencies during September. Finnish Katja Muttilainen and the Italian artist duo Mozzarella Light Giulia Ciappi and Marco Frassinelli build two different place-related light artworks, which are ready to be admired at the City of Light event. STREET FOOD The International Street Food Market offering delicious food from around the world will take place on the pedestrian street from Thu-Sat 26.-28.9.2024 daily from 16:00 to 24:00. SIDE PROGRAM You can find side events below under "Linked events". The light-themed side program offers things to experience and marvel at throughout the event.
