Canoeing trip: Petäjävesi old church (UNESCO) and Karikkoselkä Crater Lake

Join us for a day of kayaking on the Karikkoselkä meteorite lake and explore the iconic 18th century wooden church in Petäjävesi.

Meetup: 10:00, Petäjävesi Old Church Itinerary: Visit to the Petäjävesi Old Church After arrival, we will visit the Petäjävesi Old Church, which is a magnificent example of traditional Finnish wooden architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Basics of canoeing and safety Before we get on the water, the guide will give a short lesson on canoeing techniques and go through safety measures. No experience is required - beginners are welcome! Canoeing on Karikkoselkä We will flow through the calm waters of Lake Karikkoselkä. This unique lake was formed millions of years ago by the impact of a meteorite. We will enjoy the surrounding nature and listen to stories about the rich cultural and natural history of the area. Lunch break We will take a relaxing break, during which we will prepare food in nature, enjoy a shared meal, and get to know the lake scenery. End of the trip: Around 5:00 PM Included in the price: Equipment, guidance, entrance fee to the church, lunch, and a snack. What to bring: Outdoor clothing suitable for the weather, water.
