Welcome to explore the Muurame church

The church is open during the summer season from June 1st to August 31st, Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. A church guide is present on site.

The Muurame Church was completed in 1929 based on the plans of architect Alvar Aalto. In the details of the church, one can see several influences adopted by Aalto during his honeymoon trip to Northern Italy, for example in the Campanile-style bell tower, the small windows placed high up, the sunshade of the wing building, the color scheme of the church, and the surrounding wall. Architecturally, the church represents Nordic classicism. Exceptions to opening hours: - On Midsummer's Eve, Friday June 19, the church is closed.
